session 3 . Criticism, media and different modes of diffusion

This session presents researches that focus on architectural criticism texts and investigate how the specificities of audience, format, networks of production and diffusion in different media – specialized journals, daily newspapers and cultural publications – influenced their formulation and circulation in Latin America, Brazil and Portugal between 1940 and 1970. The studies also point to the importance of criticism to the history of modern architecture and the constitution and expansion of the professional field.
